Davis Bacon:

The City of Tucson Department of Procurement and Pima Community College are co-hosting a FREE U.S. Department of Labor training on Davis Bacon requirements (prevailing wage) for the contracting community on Wednesday, May 25th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Pima Community College Desert Vista Campus, 5901 S. Calle Santa Cruz Room F123, Tucson, AZ 85709. To register, please email name, company, title, phone number and email address to Davisbacon@tucsonaz.gov.

The Davis Bacon regulation applies to any Federally funded construction project valued at $2,000 or more. Most public agencies are receiving more and more federal funds for public improvement projects and there are a lot of requirements that come with the money for both the public agency and the contractor/subcontractor performing work on the project. This training is an excellent opportunity for the construction contracting community, who are responsible for the oversight of Federally funded construction projects and day-to-day oversight of Davis Bacon activities to attend and learn more about the Federal requirements.

NOTICE: Effective immediately, all Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funded construction and architect/engineering projects solicited by the City of Tucson will include a pre-qualification requirement. The City will only accept bids from prime contractors and statement of qualifications from A/E firms which are pre-qualified through the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) pre-qualification process. A solicitation will clearly indicate if a project is funded with FHWA funds.

For information on the ADOT Pre-Qualification process visit the ADOT
